That averages out to about an hour a day. 1400 different artists blows my mind though. I listen to a lot of stuff, but I didn’t consider my tastes THAT diverse. Anyone else want to compare data?

And in case anyone was wondering what I was listening to so much:

Heavy Gloom being my top song is not a surprise at all. I’m still upset I missed The story so far when they came through town a month ago.

I listened a lot, but my artist count is weak sauce. I tend to build playlists and play them to death.

I’ll go back and forth between artist based radio if I want something new, and then I’ll go to my main playlist that has a lot saved from spotify radio.

I think this is my problem, I use Pandora at home when I just want music on, which is most of the time especially weekends. I don’t know why I don’t use Spotify radio more, because I love how easy it is to save songs to playlists from the radio function...

I haven’t used Pandora in a while cause of ads, and I have Spotify premium, but Spotify radio does get kinda repetitive once it figures out what you like. I used to use songza to get deeper cuts and fresh stuff, but then they got bought by google and “integrated” (read: not at all integrated) into play music.

I actually find some of Spotify’s genre playlists more useful if I’m in an exploration mood.

I’m pretty sure I killed it in genre variety... then again I did college radio for years so I’ve got pretty wide tastes.

No surprise for me on my top genre though. I am surprised at Enemies being my top band, only because I found them pretty late in the year... I guess I must have made up for missed time. I also honestly don’t know who Arve Henriksen is, but they’re apparently one of my top artists? Weird... maybe they played trumpet on a couple different jazz albums I listened to, but I never went to any of their solo albums. Very curious. I also find it odd there’s no mention of the band Town Portal anywhere as I was pretty sure they’d be my top listen...
